Fiat has presented the first official pictures of 500L, the new model will be fully unveiled at an international exhibition in Geneva on the 6 March this year. The L is the latest addition to the range of 500 models, which takes elements of the Abarth and Cabrio models and introduces a model that is able to meet different customers' criteria.

BMW has taken the development of intelligent hybrid drive systems to the next level with the introduction of the BMW ActiveHybrid 5. This model will be in mass production with an internal combustion engine and electric motor, which improve efficiency. The BMW ActiveHybrid 5 is united by a BMW TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder in-line engine, an electric drive system and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The latest generation of BMW ActiveHybrid technology is precisely controlled and highly efficient using intelligent energy management. All signs point to a big future for small cars! Now Volkswagen is raising the bar by presenting a new version of their classic sedan with four doors, and a compact yet comfortable package. Volkswagen will launch the “Up” into the European market in early summer, and they expect that more than half of buyers will choose the four-door version from the get-go. This version has identical engines powered by a 44 kW / 60 hp and 55 kW / 75 PS.

Volkswagen Up With four doors, the look of the car's side profile has changed. While the lower window line version of the two-door rises towards the rear near the speakers, the new edition will form a straight line from front to back. The boot has a capacity of 251 litres cargo of space, which can be increased to 951 litres by folding down the rear seats.

The rear door of the Volkswagen Up opens up wide and offers comfortable seating for events. International Automobile dealer Nissan announced the official release of the Nissan GT-R (R35), which corresponds to the regulations of the FIA GT3: Nissan NISMO GT-R GT3.

NISMO and JR Motorsports (JRM), have become official partners for this major project, jointly developing the car during 2011, and after a series of extensive tests which include competitive performance and endurance, proven credentials have been released for GT3 racing worldwide.

The Nissan NISMO GT-R GT3 features a 3.8 V6 twin-turbo engine that is based on the standard version of the road car, with 523 horsepower at 6400 rpm. This power is delivered through a six-speed semi-automatic transmission system. The car has rear-wheel drive, and brake and chassis modification inspire trust the driver, wherein control of the car can easily be corrected by matching sets of preferences.

The 8-speed gearbox of the BMW has also changed in order to achieve an overall harmonious package. The enormous performance potential of the BMW V12 bi-turbo engine modified by G-POWER allows the G-POWER 760i to stand in the upper range of cars in this class.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 4.2 seconds, and after 11.9 seconds, 200 km/h  can be achieved. With a top speed of 345 km/h, the G-POWER 760i STORM is moving toward the top of its class. The revolutionary Opel Ampera has celebrated its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show. General Motors Europe, presented the electric car with extended-range plans and announcements by putting the car into production in late 2011. Opel Ampera will be offered with right-hand drive in the UK by sister brand Opel, Vauxhall.

For journeys of 25-50 miles, with a fully charged battery, you can be satisfied with the knowledge that you’re running on pure electricity. The lithium-ion batteries in the Ampera offer 2-3 times more power than the NiMH (nickel metal hydride) versions found in conventional hybrids. So, there’s plenty of juice on full charge, but when they become totally depleted, something happens...the 1.4 petrol engine swings into action to power an electricity generator, which tops up the electric motor’s battery. With this system, you can drive on for up to 310 more miles!

The electric motor is powered by electricity stored in the 16 kW hour lithium-ion battery. When the battery runs out, electricity from an engine-generator extends the Ampera to over 500 km of range overall. Opel Ampera can be charged through contact powered 230V, that  every household has in their garage.

Engineers researching at the development centre in Mainz-Kastel Germany are testing the battery around the clock for 365 days to ensure that it will meet the expectations of customers. The nearly silent electric drive unit delivers 370 Nm of torque, the equivalent of 150 horsepower. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kph takes about nine seconds, and the top speed will be 161 kph overall. Opel Ampera will be a perfect car for the daily driving schedule of most European customers.

For example, approximately 80 percent of German drivers travel less than 50 km daily. Early evaluations of the Opel assume is that it will cost about one-fifth compared to conventional vehicles with gasoline engines if fuel prices continue to rise.
