The battery has an energy capacity of 9.8 kWh, and is located in the center of the car. Power electronics that operate at a voltage of about 370 volts are integrated in the front engine compartment, managing the flow of energy from the high-voltage battery and electric motors. Meanwhile, 12 volt power is supplied to the electrical system via a DC power converter located in the center console.

Now, a year later at the same place, the top version of the bestseller makes its worldwide debut: the first GTI Cabriolet in the history of Golf! A four-seater GTI with 208 horsepower, making it the most powerful Golf Cabriolet ever. GTI not only means more power, but also sporty exterior, interior and precisely tuned chassis.

The first models of the Golf GTI Cabriolet will be delivered officially this summer. At launch, customers can choose between a 6-speed manual gearbox or 6-speed DSG dual clutch gearbox. Both transmissions send power to a turbo petrol engine with direct injection off the front axle.
