Tyre wear

Using quality tyres for a car is a prerequisite if you want to achieve safety during driving.

The quality and prices of tyres are very different, and it is absolutely understandable given that there are a variety of brands and types of tyres. Tyre innovation plays a big part with vehicle designers and manufacturers when designing new models.

If you find that your tires need to be replaced, even if you think you have the time to spend going from dealer to dealer, a more reasonable and better choice would be to find your replacement tyres on-line.

Here are the most common reasons for tyre wear :-

  1. Convergence wheels. This refers to the angles the wheels are to each other. Wheels that are not parallel will wear out the tyre more as each tyre will be running at an angle on the road surface which creates unnecessary friction which will wear the tyre out sooner that it's expected lifespan allows for.

  2. Slope of your tires to the road. If the wheels are at an angle with the road surface the vehicle will be putting more pressure on one edge of the tyre. This means the full tyre will not be carrying the load it was designed for, so the edge carrying the load will wear out much quicker than it was designed for.

  3. Tire pressure. If a tyre is over-inflated it will decrease the surface area of the tyre on the road surface, thereby increasing wear on the section of tyre that is making contact with the surface. The tyre will also be harder than it was designed for, thereby also increasing wear and tear on the tyre. Exactly the same situation will arise if the tyre is under-inflated, as the side-wall of the tyre will be carrying more of a load than it was designed for. The centre of the tyre will tend to buckle inwards, thereby not carrying sufficient load to spread it over the entire tyre surface increasing wear and tear on the outside of the tyre surface.

If you pay attention to these signs of tire wear, you will be able to keep your car tyres in the best possible condition. You can use this web portal to contact the various tyre suppliers on our site so make any enquiries you may have about any issues relating to your tyres.
