Old Car Recycling Salvage Yard

Find a Part/s

Perhaps many of you do not know what to do with your old, running cars. Perhaps you have bought something new, or your old car breaks down too often and is past it's sell-by date, or it may have been in an accident.

Well, you can choose what to do you and you have many options, all depending on your your personal choice and your budget. You can either rebuild your car, sell it as-is to a new owner, or you could sell it to a scrapyard.

If you think your car is unique and you want to keep it, you can, as ultimately it could sell at a higher price as a vintage car. If your decision is to sell it as-is , the buyer will sign an invoice stating as such, which you then need to take to the relevant authorities to de-register your car from your name so that you will not be liable for future licensing fees. If your choose, the buyer can also take care of this, but it will be in your best interest to do this yourself to make absolutely sure it has been done correctly.

You should be aware that, under these circumstances, you may have many quarrels with the removal of your car from the registers because bureaucracy in South Africa is very far from that of other countries.

If you decide to send your car to a scrap yard you may get more money for it. The price will vary mostly depending on the condition of the car – where it was hit if in an accident, that there are many problems if it is burned, what is the condition of its parts and so forth.

Whatever your decision is, in any event, you will get some money for your old car. This is where being South African is a benefit, because if, for example, you were in Germany, you would have to pay to take your car to a scrapyard, but you do not.

It is unfortunate that South Africa has no adopted recycling strategies for old vehicles as they do in the United States or Europe, so recycling your old vehicle is not much of an option for you. It is a pity, as the environment in suffers as a result with many old vehicle skeleton littering the roadside.
