The new MINI was introduced into production for the first time in 2001 by BMW. It is the successor of the original Mini and was designed and developed by engineers at British Motor Corporation. The new MINI is available as a hatchback in three versions - MINI One, Cooper and Cooper S. A 1.4-liter diesel engine is available for the MINI One. The 1.6-liter petrol engine in the MINI One and Cooper is the same but the settings are electronically-altered for the Cooper model.

The supercharged engine of the Cooper S has an output of 170 horsepower. The parameters of this engine are close to those of the Honda Civic Type-R. The MINI Cooper has low-profile tires, which makes the car more stable when turning and makes the car easier to manage. Suspension of this elegant and small car is solid.

The Cooper engine is works hard to meet your needs when you want to have fun. The engine of the MINI One and Cooper is quiet, but this does not apply to the Cooper S model, which is reasonably refined despite the howls of the compressor. There some noise in the cab when driving on rough surfaces as well, but wind noise is minimized.

These cars are so desirable that BMW had to create waiting lists for all of the people who wanted to buy them. After about three years of ownership, the MINI can be sold at a good price, which equals about 70% of the original value. The MINI Cooper S, whose engine has an output of 170 hp, consumes a mere 8.6 liters of fuel per 100km.

The first models had some issues with reliability, but things have changes as BMW has upped the standards of these vehicles. The multiplex system increases electrical reliability and allows more advanced features that can be interconnected. Standard MINI cars have four airbags integrated and side curtains can be ordered as extras.

Buyers can also choose between braking systems with and without traction control. The MINI has most of the security features found in any other BMR brand car. The interior of the new MINI is highly modified and improved compared to the classic models. The seats are comfortable and hug the body of the driver.

The MINI dashboard comes with interesting and elegant design that fits perfectly. The MINI has four seats and the rear of the vehicle is quite suitable for young children. The trunk is big enough to carry a decent sized load of groceries. Two equal-size rear seats can be folded down, freeing more space for luggage.

Standard features of the MINI models include electric front windows, radio/cassette, adjustable front seats, adjustable steering column, and alloy wheels. The convertible style is only available for Cooper and Cooper S versions. In 2007, BMW introduced a new version of the car with a freshly engineered platform.
