Sales of cars with the Audi brand increased by 19.5% during the month of May 2011 compared to May 2010.
Analysts said the increase in sales is mainly due to record high sales in China. As the most populous country in the world only in May 2011 sold 44.6% more cars manufacturer Audi compared to the same month of 2010
For the last month the famous automobile concern in China has sold a total of over 25,000 vehicles, is responsible for approximately 20% of the sales of the Italian car globally.
Audi marketing boss, Peter Schwarzenbauer, told the media that the company has increased its capacity to produce cars for the Chinese population of 300 000 cars, which the Italians want to meet the growing interest of customers to the Audi brand.
China is known as the largest auto market in the world, but it is forecast to decline in sales in 2011, which will be a result of many requirements for registration of a new vehicle and continuously rising fuel prices.
In January-May 2011 the Italian brand sales worldwide increased as follows: 27.8% in China, 24.4% in Russia, 24.7% in France, etc.
