Mazda is a Japanese brand car manufacturer based in Hiroshima. At the outset, Mazda started as the Toyo Cork Kogyo Co Ltd, established in Japan in 1910. Mazda official name is accepted by the company in 1984, though every automobile sold from the beginning has been offered by that name. Mazda R360 was produced in 1960, followed by the new Mazda engines in 1962. In the early '60s, Mazda involved into development of Wankel rotary engine.

Xedos line was marketed under the brand Mazda, and used the emblem of the brand by the year that was changed seven times since the beginning until now. In sports car racing, Mazda has achieved success as an engine type Wankel and with models of their piston engines. In 2007, Mazda produced almost 1.3 million vehicles worldwide. The majority of about one million vehicles are produced by plants in Japan.
