Lada is an trademark of Russian brand of cars. It is owned by Russian automaker AvtoVAZ, earlier known as simply VAZ. The brand was established in 1966. The plant for the production of Lada is based in Togliatti - Russia. Vehicles Lada has always been known for their borrowed models and low cost auto market.

Lada comes in Chile in late 1980 and offers its cars on the Chilean market by 1998. In Colombia, the brand was first shown in the late 70's. In Cuba, Lada has celebrated more than 70 years. In Ecuador, the brand also entered in the 70's but closed his business there in the mid 90s. El Salvador saw Russian cars in 1982. Imported models were series 2101, 2102, 2104, 2105, 2106, 2107, 2108, 2109 and 2121 Niva.

Although in the 80s and early 90s Lada was in Spain with models such as Samara, for a few years and sold only Niva 2110, 2111, 2112. From 2007, Spain sold Kalina 1118, 1119 and Niva 4x4 in various versions. Lada joined the Venezuelan market in the early 90's and sold their cars to this day. Similarly, in Greece, the 2112 model is called Hatch Back Venus 2112, while the same model in Venezuela is called Glacial 2112. Newer models are Kalina and Lada Priora 1118. The most popular and prestigious model Lada Vaz 2121 4x4 is known in the world as Lada Niva has participated in many competitions and won prizes. Lada has many offices and distributors in the world. In Argentina, the models sold from 1993 to 2004 are: Lada 2104 SW, 2105, 2107, 21102, 21083 Samara 3P, 21099 Samara 4P, Samara 5P 21093 and 2121 Lada Niva.

Early 2011 was to be a turning point year for the brand as a whole, with built of the classic Fiat 124-based 2105 and 2107 series versions being totally moved from the Togliatti plant to the IzhAvto plant near Izhevsk, to facilitate made space for the company's forthcoming 2116 model. In 2012, the XRAY Lada concept car was exhibited at the Moscow International Automobile Salon. It was developed by chief designer Steve Mattin, formerly of Volvo and Mercedes-Benz.
