Jaguar Cars Ltd, called as Jaguar is a British premium and sports car manufacturer, headquartered in Whitley, Coventry, England. It is a division of the Jaguar Land Rover business, a subsidiary of the Indian company Tata Motors. The company is on in 1922 as swallow car Company by Sir William Lyons, initially as a manufacturer of motorcycles, then evolved into a production car. The company was renamed to Jaguar, after World War II.

Jaguar is known throughout the world for its luxury vehicles and sports cars from 1930 onwards. The name Jaguar, became known by producing a series of eye-catching sports cars, XK 120 of 1949, developments in the XK 140 and XK 150, XKE or E Type as it is known in the U.S. since 1961. In 1956, Jaguar Mark VII won the prestigious Monte Carlo Rally. The company is independent, while it is not part of the national carrier British Motor Corporation, in 1966. In 1989, Jaguar became part of Ford. In 1999, grow to be part of the new Premier Automotive Group of Ford. Land Rover was included to the division in 2000 after being sold by BMW. On March 25, 2008, Ford Motor Company sold the trademark and technology of Jaguar and Land Rover to Indian company Tata Motors.

The company was originally based in Blackpool, but premestena in Coventry to be at the heart of the British motor industry. Today the factory is located in Browns Lane in Coventry, Castle Bromwich in Birmingham and Halewood in Liverpool.
