Types of window tint for SUVs

There are two main types of safety glass used in automobiles today - laminated glass and tempered glass. Normal plate glass was used in cars in the early 1900's when car companies first started installing windows in cars. In the coming years, companies understood that it is very dangerous when you break ordinary glass. Between 1919 and 1927, the option for laminated glass was introduced.

To further improve safety, car manufacturers have begun to use tempered glass for side and rear windows. Modern cars use only laminated and tempered glass. Autoglass came into production as the speed of vehicles increased and passengers needed better protection.

Flat glass is able to protect the occupants from wind, but not in the event of collision, which would cause broken glass pieces to shatter everywhere. Laminated glass is always used for windscreens of vehicles as it burst into small pieces when affected by tempered glass. Tempered glass is used in the side and rear windows. The reason two different types of glass are used is for vehicles is safety.

Laminated glass is much more difficult to be broken. In the event of an accident, the vehicle doors might not be able to be opened and the only option might be to escape through windows of the vehicle. In such a situation, passengers must break hardened Autoglass on the side or rear of the car so they can leave. Modern glass can include a wide variety of options such as UV protection, defrosting, antennas, rain sensor that activate the wipers or even holographic displays.
