Purpose and operation of the cooling system of the motorcycle

The purpose of the engine's cooling system for motorcycles is to remove excess heat from the engine to keep the engine at its most efficient temperature. The cooling system of the motorcycle also ensures that the motorcycle reaches optimal temperature as quickly as possible upon startup.

Ideally, the cooling system allows the engine to operate at the most efficient temperature needed, no matter what the conditions. As fuel is burned in the engine of the motorcycle, about one third of the energy in the fuel is converted into force. Another third goes to the exhaust pipe unused, and the rest becomes heat.

If not for the engine cooling system, some of the parts would melt from the heat generated in burning  fuel. Also, the pistons of a motorcycle engine without a cooling system would expand so much that it could not move in the cylinders. There are two types of cooling systems for a motorcycle: water and air.

The most common and widespread is water cooled. It occurs mostly in the more powerful motorcycle engines. The water cooling system of the engine is structured with the following parts and components: water jacket of the engine, thermostat, water pump, one or two radiator cooling electric or belt-driven fan, coolant tank and more. With the help of findspares.co.za, you will quickly find the necessary spare parts for the cooling system of your bike and at a great price.
